KERERU DISCOVERY PROJECT
WILDLIFE DOCUMENTARY
Kereru - this brief sequence was originally three separate shots, produced to provide otherwise unattainable material for the Kereru Discovery Project documentary produced by Eric Dorfman at Te Papa.
The first shot shows the rarely-seen mating ritual; the second a classic scene of 'the drunken kereru' - the kereru typically so gorges itself on fermenting fruit that it becomes too inebriated to hang onto its perch !; the third shot is an historic recreation of a scene never recorded in motion - once upon a time, the kereru flew in flocks of many thousands of birds.
The field of wildlife documentary is an area we are very keen to get further into - get in touch if you need wildlife content that can't be achieved by the traditional means, or if you need to view beyond the naked eye.
TE PAPA
Browndog was commissioned by Eric Dorfmann of Te Papa to provide a 3D solution for the Kereru Discovery Project's documentary 'Te Kereru: The World of the New Zealand Pigeon'. Traditionally filmed footage of the rare mating ritual, the iconic 'drunkenness' of the kereru and the historic massing of thousands of birds in a flock was unavailable.
